Bathing your newborn
Newborns in Japan are treated with tender care and attention. The mother and child in the first days and even months after birth, are still a single organism. The Japanese believe the interactive bathing procedure has a special emotional component and should be comfortable, calm and peaceful. HOW THE BATHE A BABY
BATH
When caring for a newborn, you will definitely need a bath to keep your baby clean and healthy. To help the mothers as much as possible, Miki House suggests using an inflatable version with a headrest and an angled slope to lay the baby. The bath is very compact, ideal for traveling, and easily folds into any bag or suitcase. The size is perfect for 0 to 6-month-olds.
The bath shape will make bathing as easy and enjoyable as possible. The gently curved backrest will comfortably position your newborn’s small body. THIN TOWELS
We recommend using napkins (small thin towels) for bathing, which have several functions.
- Newborns are still unfamiliar with their environment and can get anxious when naked. So the best way not to scare them before bathing is to wrap the baby’s body with a thin, delicate napkin, and start the procedure of bathing with the napkin on, gradually unfolding when they get used to the water.
- Instead of a sponge, using a small terry or gauze napkin is better to avoid injuring delicate skin.
- After bathing, it is very convenient to dry the baby’s hair with a thin, soft, absorbent towel.

TOWEL

TOOTHBRUSH
As soon as a baby gets their first teeth, they can already get familiarized with a toothbrush.
The best option would be the HAMICO safety toothbrush, developed by Miki House in collaboration with Japanese dental hygienists and manufactured in Japan. Babies easily take this brush in their hands, bite playfully and brush their teeth. The brush is ideal for practicing dental care. It is very ergonomic, with safe bristles with rounded soft nylon hairs. The flat ring-shaped body prevents the toothbrush from touching the throat.
The brush has high-temperature resistance of 80℃.

Very simple and easy to care for, just rinse and dry.

GROOMING KIT
From the first days of life, you will definitely need a set for the care of the baby’s nails and hair. The Miki House set is extremely convenient to complete and use.
